Annual plan

The 2012 academic year

  1. Adjust rules/regulations to facilitate changes in entrance examination procedures/methods
  2. Adjust foreign language course requirement rules/regulations
  3. Prepare for the implementation of the new English curriculum, ACT program, and self-directed study support system
  4. Administer the TOEFL ITP Test to second-, third-, and fourth-year students
  5. Hold a faculty development assembly with the entire English faculty
  6. Prepare for establishing the University-Wide English Support Desk
  7. Introduce e-learning materials
  8. Purchase language materials (books, CDs, DVDs)
  9. Upgrade and optimize Center for Foreign Language Education and the University-Wide English Support Desk facilities
  10. Create pamphlets for the ACT program

The 2013 academic year

  1. Administer the TOEFL ITP Test for all students and the TOEFL iBT and IELTS tests for ACT participants
  2. Administer proficiency tests for third languages
  3. Operate various e-learning systems
  4. Establish the University-Wide English Support Desk
  5. Start courses in the ACT program and the new English curriculum
  6. Evaluate and modify the new foreign language curriculum
  7. Hold the English Camp
  8. Provide various forms of training for faculty members and TOEFL/IELTS training for students
  9. Hold an FD assembly with the entire English faculty, including part-time lecturers
  10. Revise the ACT program pamphlets
  11. Enhance language-learning materials
  12. Improve operational work procedures at the Center for Foreign Language Education
  13. Improve CALL classroom functionality and facilities
  14. Install new computers in CALL classrooms
  15. Start courses taught by guest lecturers from other countries
  16. Translate various documentation rules/regulations into English and make the university homepage a better source of educational information for the public
