ニース大学から来日されているJean-Marc Lvy-Leblond教授に、文理の垣根を越えた視点から科学と芸術について語って頂きます。
Lvy-Leblond博士は理論物理学者としてご活躍されると共に、哲学・認識論に関する独自の見解を展開し講演や執筆活動を行っておられます。 どなた様もお気軽にご参加ください。

及び内容：		 題目： 「Science and art」
概要： The relationship between arts(s) and science(s) nowadays is very fashionable. Most discussions in this field rely upon comparisons aimed at stressing the similarities between artistic creation and scientific research. It will be argued here that this perspective leads to rather superficial views. If one is to consider the actual practices (social and individual) in the two domains rather that abstract characterizations, it appears that the differences between art(s) and science(s) are both more important and more interesting that their resemblances. It is only by recognizing these differences that one can try to construct meaningful and fecund links. This general position will be exemplified by a few “brief encounters” between a physicist (the speaker) and several contemporary artists, which may lead to a deeper understanding of the nature of scientific work.
