The 2nd Women's Global Leadership Summit will be held on February 7, 2015!

Women's Global Leadership Summit (International Conference on Women’s Global Leadership)
entitled "What leadership is possible? Is “women’s leadership” possible?"

Summary:

  • The Center will hold the 2nd Women's Global Leadership Summit (International Conference on Women’s Global Leadership) on February 7, 2015. This 2nd installment focuses on what leadership is possible, and whether ”women’s leadership” is possible.
  • It is said that we have fewer female leaders in Japan compared to other countries. Why are female leaders relatively hard to emerge and be accepted in Japan? This summit gives you an opportunity to think about these together with your female predecessors who have made international career with their leadership.
  • Professor Judit Hidasi at Budapest Business School will give a keynote speech on gender issues. Her specialty includes linguistics and general applied linguistics, extending to cross-cultural communication, and foreign language education policy. She speaks multiple languages including Japanese, English, German, and Russian, and she has taught at universities around the world (including Japan). In 2005 she was awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon (旭日中綬章).
  • Kojima Sachiko established MADAM SACHIKO ANGKOR COOKIES in 2004, with the aim to provide places to work for people who have not received education in Cambodia. The company works on production and sales of souvenir. She has received awards such as Monde Selection Gold, Nikkei Woman of the Year. Since 2014, she has been on the project of vitalizing regions by senary industrialization of agriculture.
  • Phoebe Stella Holdgrün, Deputy Director at the German Institute for Japanese Studies in Tokyo, researches gender equality social policy within Japanese Studies and Political Science. Her recent research was on political participation and its risk.
  • The summit welcomes your participation, especially at the Q & A session. We hope you enjoy the discussions on topics such as "the relationship between the Japanese society and leadership, and leadership of women and men.
